Been studying for my finals, so the nearest book to me right now is a text book. Business Studies (Third Edition) by Dave Hall, Rob Jones & Carlo Raffo and on the 123rd page it says ..
"A Business is made up of sub-cultures which coexist. Sometimes these are in harmony, but sometimes in conflict. There may be differences of interests and opinions among different groups. As a result, cultural practices in companies are interpreted in different ways by employees. These may not always be those intended by management. For example, a profit-sharing scheme may be seen as a sign of equality by one group. Everyone gets a share in the profit, not just management and shareholders. Another group, however, may see it as a bribe for employees to conform with the company."
